Remembering A Moment Until I Die

At my 2014 solo-show at Revision Space Gallery, I hired a tattoo artist to trace my lines onto audience members for free.

My work is often influenced by the preservation of memories. Like the rest of my pieces, tattoos are visual representations of time, acting as totems that allow the viewer to recall a certain thought, feeling, or event. Tattoos are tangible reminders of these complex, intangible experiences. I’m lending my abstract-line aesthetic to willing participants in hopes to assist in this act of recall, making permanent an impermanent memory, lasting with them until their death.

I will be publishing a book of all 100 tattoos once they have been completed.
Thanks to Karen Lue for helping with the photography.
